LG's UK residential range is split into wall mounted single splits (such as DUALCOOL Standard, Standard Plus and Deluxe), ARTCOOL designer models (ARTCOOL Mirror and ARTCOOL Gallery) and Multi Split systems, where one outdoor unit runs two to five indoor units.

As a guide: 2.5 kW suits rooms up to about 25 m², 3.5 kW up to about 35 m², 5.0 kW up to about 50 m², and 7.0 kW larger open-plan spaces. Sunny rooms, high ceilings and lots of glass may need the next size up, so we confirm sizing at the survey.

A single split has one indoor unit and one outdoor unit, so it is the simplest and cheapest way to do one room. A multi split runs several rooms from one outdoor unit, which saves outside wall space but costs more and needs a survey.

ARTCOOL Gallery is LG's wall mounted unit with a framed front panel that can display artwork or your own photos, so the air conditioner looks like a picture on the wall. It cools and heats like LG's other split units.

Yes. LG's residential split units are reverse-cycle heat pumps, so the same unit heats in winter and cools in summer. For example, LG lists the 3.5 kW ARTCOOL Mirror at 3.5 kW rated cooling and 4.0 kW rated heating.

It is LG's variable-speed compressor. Instead of switching fully on and off, it speeds up and slows down to hold the temperature, which LG says gives faster cooling, lower energy use and less noise than its older non-inverter units.

Efficiency varies by model. As an example, LG lists the 3.5 kW ARTCOOL Mirror with an A++ cooling energy label and a SEER of 6.60. We give you the energy label for your exact model with your quote.

LG lists the 3.5 kW ARTCOOL Mirror indoor unit as low as 19 dB(A) on its quietest cooling setting, which is quieter than a whisper. Noise levels differ by model and fan speed.

Yes, on Wi-Fi models. LG's ThinQ app lets you switch the unit on and off, change settings and monitor energy use from anywhere, and many models also work with voice assistants.

On models that have it, such as DUALCOOL Deluxe, UVnano uses UV LED light to keep the indoor fan clean. LG also offers auto-cleaning, which dries the inside of the unit after use to keep it fresh.

The LG residential units we supply and fit use R32, a refrigerant with a lower global warming impact than the older R410A. Handling it legally requires F-Gas certified engineers, which ours are.

A single-room LG split is supplied and fitted from £2,395 + VAT, including the unit, labour and standard materials. Larger sizes, multi-room systems and long pipe runs cost more. The final price is confirmed after a survey.
